    Keynote Speaker: Steve Maguire

    Steve's mission as a professional speaker is to provide fun, professional and inspiring presentations for all clients. Speaking and training in the primary fields of schools and summer camps, Steve's audiences range from summer camp staff and administrators to school faculty, students, athletes and parents.

    Keynote speaker Steve Maguire will be kicking off the day with a lively keynote address. Following the keynote session there will be breakout sessions in the morning with topics including: arts and crafts, active games, evaluation techniques (for supervisors), and more! In the afternoon will have more breakout sessions which include topics like nature activities, waterfront safety, leadership, and discipline. 

    We end the day with an EndNote address by General Bolduc and his message on mental health. After the EndNote, we will serve up ice cream sundaes and raffle off prizes! Registrants also have a chance to win one of (2) $25 gift cards!

    The New Hampshire Recreation & Parks Association and the New England Park Association would like to invite you to our first annual Maintenance workshop. Attendees will have the opportunity to rotate through four sessions and learn valuable tools and resources to take home and put to practice in their community.  

    We hope you will join us!  The full workshop schedule is listed below.  

    Maintenance Workshop Schedule

    7:00 – 7:50 am:  Registration/Check-In

    8:00 am:  Welcome, coffee & donuts

    8:30 – 9:15 am:  First Session Rotation 

    9:20 – 10:05 am:  Second Session Rotation 

    10:10  – 10:30 am:  Break

    10:30 – 11:15 am:  Third Session Rotation 

    11:20 am -12:05 pm:  Final Session Rotation 

    12:05 – 1:30 pm:  Lunch & Round Tables

    Participants will rotate and attend one session per rotation.  The sessions are outlined below.  

    Fertilization: Synthetic or Organic - Presenter: Frankie Dinardi, Organic First LLC, Rick Peruzzi, South Portland Parks and Recreation.

    What you feed your turf could make or break your turf management plan. We will discuss the pros, cons and best practices for each. We will hear how one department made the switch and never looked back!

    Alternative Parks & Amenities – Presenter: Craig Fraley, Amherst Parks & Recreation Department

    “If you build it, they will come” Break away from the diamond and rectangular fields at your parks and do something fun and new for all residents.  In this workshop we will go through the planning, budgeting and building process of many different low cost amenities for your parks.  We will discuss gaga pits, disc golf, mountain bike parks and other small additions to feature your existing parks.  

    Smart Field Maintenance Practices on a Smaller Budget – Presenter: Jess Hamilton MTE –Turf Equipment Solutions

    What tools do you have in your shed?  Jess will talk about solutions to purchasing smart equipment that does it all vs. having multiple tools that can only do one job.  In this session you will learn about being preventative and cost effective with your turf maintenance and not needing to pay for the high cost fixes after the fact. 

    Vendor Hall Session - visit with all the vendors as part of the rotating sessions.
