Do you like to spend time outdoors? Whether its hiking, biking, kayaking, rock climbing or other outdoor pursuits; if you or someone in your group got hurt would you know what to do?
The Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department has teamed up with SOLO, a nationally recognized leaders in the field of wilderness medicine and rescue to provide affordable wilderness medical training close to home.
Wilderness First Aid is the perfect course for the outdoor enthusiast or trip leader who wants more than a basic level of first aid training for short trips with family, friends, and outdoor groups.
Wilderness First Aid is a comprehensive 16 hour long training program which focuses on the skills of: Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies.
This two-day course will be held on Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 3rd from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm at Wasserman Park. Participants will be provided with a gear list of supplies that they should plan to bring with them to the course.
This course will be held at Wasserman Park in Merrimack, NH and is approved by the American Camp Association to meet the requirements for licensed day camps.
Adult CPR/AED course will also be offered on Saturday evening for an additional $50.00. If you do not have this certification already you must take this take this additional course to receive your Wilderness First Aid Certificate.

Training Description:
The level 1 Archery Instructor Course is designed to train and certify camp archery instructors. Emphasis is placed on safety, teaching proper form and creating a curriculum for the season. Participants will also learn how to repair and maintain equipment. Participants must pass both a written examination and a safety presentation. Add new fun into your program in a safe way. Bring questions about your equipment, how to create safe games that teach skills, and how to reach your camps archery goals. Participants who successfully complete the course will become certified under USA Archery for 3 years. Class is taught by Lucy Morris from the New England School of Archery. Minimum age is 16. Program will be held at the archery range at Wasserman Park.
